VIV Health became the first company in Korea to complete registration of a wearable smart ring device as a “Digital Healthcare & Wellness Support Device” with the KFDA on February 5, 2026. VIV Health is a Seoul-based digital healthcare startup developing wearable biometric signal monitoring devices powered by proprietary signal-processing algorithms and AI-based analytics. The company is currently incubated at "Seoul BioHub of the Seoul Metropolitan Government", a leading biotechnology startup accelerator in Korea. VIV Health collaborates with Prof. Wonseok Jang, MD, PhD, of Yonsei University College of Medicine (Chief Scientific Officer at VIV Health), who previously served at Samsung Medison and Siemens Medical R&D Institute, in the development of advanced biometric signal processing and AI-driven health analytics technologies. The company’s flagship product, VIV Ring, is a smart ring–based continuous biometric monitoring device that measures and analyzes heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), and step count, while providing health management insights based on lifestyle data tracking. The product falls under the KFDA-defined category of devices intended for measuring and analyzing biometric signals or recording lifestyle data for the purpose of supporting healthcare and maintaining or improving overall wellness. VIV Ring comprehensively tracks key health indicators including Sleep, Activity, Stress levels, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Exercise metrics, and Sleep-enhancing sound features. Through AI-powered analytics, it delivers personalized health insights tailored to each user. By simply wearing the smart ring, users can automatically monitor their biometric signals throughout the day. If abnormal patterns are detected, the system provides real-time alerts. Users can also initiate on-demand real-time measurements anytime, anywhere.
